Catherine Wall has been an artist all her life. Her interest began at the age of 10 years when she won prizes for her posters. As a teenager she studied with Reginald Marsh at the Art Students League in New York City and spent many hours copying art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She also studied dance in New York at the Metropolitan Opera School of Ballet.

After Catherine married, she and her husband moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts where she began exhibiting her paintings and selling her work. There she was influenced by the school of art established at the Barnes Foundation. Catherine also lived in Baltimore, Maryland where she was the first woman accepted as a member of the Charcoal Club. Living near Washington DC provided an opportunity to study the works of great artists at the National Gallery, the Corcoran and other galleries there. Catherine lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay area. There she was a member of the Peninsula Art Association and an exhibiting member of the Coastal Arts League Museum.

Catherine is now a part of the Todos Santos community and has been creating her art here for many years. Her paintings are very colorful, well executed and successfully capture the life and culture of Mexico. Her studio is close to the center of town and is worth visiting to experience her art in person and watch her at work creating her beautiful works of art.
